Overview:
He's determined to uncover the truth behind a decades-old disappearance—even if it kills him
When hotshot reporter Max Malone gets a rare shot of Buckmaster Hamilton with a blonde woman near Beartooth, Montana, he chases down one of the senator's daughters to verify that the woman is his supposedly long-dead first wife. But Kat Hamilton won't give him the time of day, let alone any information about her mother.
With his tousled blond hair, sexy stubble and an old straw cowboy hat topping off his long, lean frame, Kat can just tell Max isn't used to female sources denying him anything. But when her own life is put in jeopardy, it's Max who comes to her rescue. Seems someone is prepared to kill to keep the past in the past. Kat can't deny she needs Max to find out what happened to her mother, but will getting closer and closer to each other lead them to the truth…or to danger?

Review:
Lucky Shot is the third book in the Montana Hamiltons series by B. J. Daniels. It is such a great series with a story line that keeps the reader hooked.
There is romance, suspense, mystery that makes you want to keep reading to learn more. It is a continuation of Senator Buckmaster Hamilton's run for the Presidency and the mystery of his former wife Sarah Johnson Hamilton with many plot twists and turns.
Kat Hamilton is one of Buckmaster and Sarah's six daughters. She is a photographer getting ready for her first gallery show. Reporter Max Malone is a reporter who has taken what he calls a 'lucky shot" picture. He believes it is a photo of Sarah but needs confirmation so he approaches Kat.
Max and Kat start looking into the past of her mother in order to learn what she had been doing during the 22 years she has been missing. As they find new possible evidence in her past and who she was associated with, it gets more dangerous. There are multiple attacks and attempts at stopping them.
It seems anyone who looks further into Sarah's past isn't safe. That includes Senator Hamilton's current wife Angelina and others who get involved in the search.
While they are investigating her mother, Kat and Max find they have feelings for each other and fall in love.
I really enjoyed this book! The series is very engaging and as you read, the changes in the story make the reader more interested in what happens next.
I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series when it comes out!!!
