“You lock the doors at the house?” She held up her key and jiggled it from side to side. Good girl. “And the monitor?”

She reached around to her back pocket and pulled out the baby monitor we had bought for the garage and turned up the volume. I’d gotten one because the last thing I wanted was for Landyn to wake up scared while we were down here, unable to hear him.

I took it from her hand and turned it up full blast before setting it down on the tire rack beside me. When I turned back to face her, she had leaned back against the hood and placed her outstretched arms behind her to support her weight.

Now call me a sucker for a woman on the hood of a car, because fuck me, the visions rolling around in my head at that moment were so far from innocent. My body was already humming with the need to make them a reality.

“You come down here to check on me?” I asked, moving in just a little closer. I wanted to pounce on her and devour her sweetness while she screamed for more. But I remained calm. How, I have no fucking idea.

She shrugged as she scooted up the hood just a little more.

“Feel like helping me burn off some of this energy I got coiling through me?” She better not say no.

“What did you have in mind?” She bit her lower lip, and I think I moaned. She smirked and looked completed happy with herself.

Yes, I’m sure I moaned.

She parted her legs, and I gripped her knees, parting them farther.

“It involves you,” I said, trailing my fingertip along her soft thigh. I leaned in and pressed my hips in closer to hers. “And me.” Her eyes lit up with excitement. Yeah, darlin’ that is all for you. “And the hood of this car,” I added and gained a slight whimper from her when I pushed my erection against her once again and shifted slightly.

“You game?” I asked with my eyebrow cocked.

You go out alone and take nothing. “There has to be more to life than making money, son,” he told me at the end. He took hold of my hand and squeezed as hard as his frail strength could manage so as to make me understand the importance. He had regrets and wanted to share with me what he’d learned to prevent me from making the same mistakes. I understood him clearly.

The most essential value my father tried to teach me along with my brothers and sisters was the idea of family. Family took precedence over money. “Take care of the family first and the wealth will grow, Caleb,” he said.

A strong family moving forward was the only thing that truly meant anything at the end of the day.

The Blackstones had been here on the island since the days when the Mayflower made its treacherous journey to the untamed American shores. As the eldest son it was my duty to make sure the Blackstones would still be here a hundred years from now.

Review:

Raine Miller is one of my favorite authors. I have read and loved all of her books.

I was very excited when I it was announced that she was writing a new series that would and couldn't wait to read it!

Filthy Rich is the first book in this new Blackstone Dynasty series.

Caleb Blackstone is the CEO of his father's company. He is still mourning the loss of his father and is fully engrossed in work. There is no time in his life for a relationships.

When he meets Brooke Casterley at a dinner party he attends, he is immediately interested in her.

Brooke has showed Caleb to step back and enjoy life while living it and have fun.

There are issues that they both have to deal with, but it's done together as a team. You can tell how much Caleb is in love with Brooke throughout the story.

I thought when he said to her that "when he met her it was like the shades were drawn open to let in the sunlight after being in the dark for years" was beautiful.

I loved reading this story very much and didn't want to put it down.

I also enjoyed meeting the other characters in the story.

Caleb's siblings as well as Brooke's Aunt Nan and Caleb's Uncle Herman are characters I would very much like to read more about in the future.

I am very much looking forward to reading the next story in this series, Filthy Lies, which will be James and Winter (Caleb's sister's) story.

I have been a fan of Jennifer Probst's books.

I have loved the Searching For series since reading the first book, Searching for Love!

This is the fifth and last book in the series. It can read as a stand alone, but as you read it there are the characters from the previous books. Reading the books before this one can help you understand more of the history between the characters.

This is the story of Isabella MacKenzie (Izzy) and William (Liam) Devine. We see Izzy throughout the series. While reading it, I had hoped that Izzy would have a stroy, like others that have read the series and here it is,

Iabella is the twin sister of Genevieve. Genevieve's story is book number 3 in the series, Searching for Beautiful. Izzy has always seemed like a loner, who keeps to herself. In this book we are told her history and what has made her the way she is.

Izzy and Liam had met six years before the book starts. They had instant chemistry and attraction to each other, that leads to a one night stand. Liam wanted to explore the feelings they had for each other, but Izzy made a decision that afterwards realized it was the wrong decision.

William (Liam) Devine is the police offer partner of Arilyn's boyfriend, Stone Petty. He has also been in previous stories, but we just get a glimse of his character. He is a very strong personality and has always hoped things had turned out differently with Izzy.

When he sees that she is working at Kinnections, the matchmaking agency that Kate and the other women own, Liam is interested in wanting to work on having a relationship with Izzy instead of dating other women. She stole his heart six years prior and he wants her.

Izzy is reluctant to go out will Liam, but after his persistance, she does and the relationship builds.

I really enjoyed this story. I am sad to see the series end, but loved this one, just as I have loved the others. It was enjoyable reading to see the relationship of Izzy and Liam blossom after seeing each other after years of being apart. The part where they wind up adopting puppies and they help each other take care of them was my favorite. I loved the puppies names also with the tribute to Star Wars with their names Han and Leia.

I would definitely recommend reading this book and the others in the series!!! You will enjoy them all as I have!!!
