I am a big fan of Toni Aleo’s books and I love her Assassins and Bellevue Bullies hockey series.

Clipped by Love is the second book in the Bellevue Bullies series. The book can be read as a stand alone, but you are introduced to the Sinclair brothers in the first book, Boarded by Love. Jude, Jayden and Jace Sinclair are three brothers who play hockey for the Bellevue Bullies team at Bellevue University.

The main characters in this book are Jayden Sinclair and Baylor Moore. Jayden is the middle brother. Jude is the oldest and has been drafted into the NHL by the L.A. Kings. Before Jude starts his NHL training with the team he decides that the brothers should take a trip to Florida to have fun before he leaves. While Jayden tries to have a fun time, he is very pre-occupied with all he has to do. In addition to hockey and school, he also has a job so he can help his mother out with her bills since their father has left.

Baylor is the only child of former hockey great River Moore. She is determined to be the best female hockey player and be drafted into the NHL. She keeps to herself and doesn’t allow herself any distractions from her hockey game.

Jayden and Baylor are immediately attracted to each other and push each other to be better players. There are issues that Baylor has that don’t allow her to open up as much as Jayden does. She has a past that makes her very afraid to allow herself to fall for anyone. She also can’t afford anything derailing her chances for the draft.

This book is awesome! It is so emotional. There are times that you laugh and then times you want to cry. You get drawn into the story with relationship between Baylor, Jayden and the secondary characters. They have obstacles to get past, but in the end, you will love the story.

I loved how you get to see the other characters from the Assassins series in the Bullies books. It’s great how Toni updates her readers on how things are going with them.

I loved this story and would definitely recommend reading it!

I’m also looking forward to reading the next book with Jace!
