REVIEW:

Searching for Always is the forth book in Jennifer Probst’s Searching For series. I was greatly anticipating reading Arilyn’s story and loved it as I have loved every story in the series.

Arilyn Meadows is the third partner at the Kinnections dating service with Kate and Kennedy. She does the computer programming, yoga instruction and anger management counseling. Arilyn is upset because she has just been hurt for the last time by her boyfriend of 5 years, Jacob. He was her yoga instructor and they had a relationship on and off until she caught him having sex with another woman.

Stone Petty is the police officer who was called when Genevieve was having trouble with her ex David the year before. Stone and Arilyn didn’t like each other from the beginning. He has been a police officer for years, who has transferred to Verily from the Bronx after an incident. Stone also has been cheated on and also caught his ex having sex with his old partner.

After an incident during his shift, Stone finds himself signed up for anger management class and Arilyn is the teacher. He has no intent in taking the class, especially since she is the teacher and he doesn’t like her. Stone fights everything Arilyn tries to teach him in the class to calm down when his anger flares up. He is told by his boss he has no choice but to take the class and complete it, so he decides to deal with it. Arilyn isn’t happy that he is in the class either, but there is also no denying there is a crackle of electricity between them and a fierce attraction.

Arilyn helps foster rescue dogs. There is a house which she thinks maybe abusing dogs. Expecting to find large dogs, she is surprised to find a tiny Chihuahua which she calls Pinky. Stone catches her trespassing on the property. She begs him not to arrest her and allow her to take the dog so she can save it by treating it’s wounds. Stone allows her to take the dog, but tells her that she owes him and brings it to her house. They share an explosive kiss, which proves the pull they have with each other. Stone tells her there is a price for saving her and the dog. He says when she is ready to take the leap with him and see how their relationship goes, she has to ask him.

Arilyn tells Kate and Kennedy about Stone. They encourage her to ask him to Kate’s wedding. At the bachelorette party they have for Kate, Stone is there with his partner to stop a fight. He hears all the noise in the room where they are for the party. Genevieve tells him that Arilyn wants to talk to him. Stone goes in the room, the other women think he is the cop stripper they hired and want him to start the show. Since Kate is nervous, she has Arilyn sit in her chair. When Stone sees Arilyn, he asks her what’s going on. She tells him he should give the women the show they want. He starts to strip but only focuses on Arilyn and the show is for her.

The scene at Kate’s wedding was awesome. It was great to have Stone hang out with Slade, Nate and Wolfe. Even better was having Carina, Max, Nick, Alexa, Michael and Maggie there since they were in the Marriage to a Billionaire series. Kate and Kennedy encourage Arilyn to see how things go with Stone. She is Searching for Always.  Forever. Stone is only interested in a physical relationship since he has been so hurt in his past.

Arilyn asks Stone to take Pinky the Chihuahua since she watches Robert for Kate. He doesn’t want to and tries to get someone else to watch the dog. Reluctantly he starts getting attached to Pinky after taking care of her. After Stone and Arilyn’s relationship progresses, she tells Stone she loves him. He isn’t ready for a relationship, he pushes her away, says that he isn’t good for her and gives her back Pinky. Arilyn’s grandfather tells Stone that some things are worth trying and fighting for. Stone realizes he has been wrong and goes to get back Pinky and Arilyn.

In the end Arilyn realizes the greatest relationship she has is the one with her friends. I loved this series and absolutely recommend it!
