Trouble Walks In (The McGuire Brothers) By Sara Humphreys

He could be the man to rescue her

Big city K-9 cop Ronan McGuire loves women, loves his dog, loves his job-but when old flame Maddy Morgan moves into his jurisdiction, he can't think about anyone else. Ronan knows she's way out of his league, but he's determined to help Maddy live life to the fullest.
In more ways than one

With tragedy in her past, Maddy has immersed herself in work and swiftly made a name for herself in the hot New York City real estate market. She's looking for safety, not love, but Ronan McGuire is as persistent as he is sexy, and his crooked smile is hard to resist. But all other concerns are wiped away when Maddy goes missing and Ronan and his bloodhound K-9 partner are tasked with finding her and bringing her home.

Review:

Trouble Walks In is the second book of The McGuire Brothers series.

I loved this story and you will also!

The book can be read as a stand alone, but it helps to have read the first book, Brave The Heat so you are familiar with the characters.

Ronan McGuire is a New York City K-9 police officer. His specialty is doing search and rescue with his dog Bowser.

Maddy Morgan is a New York City real estate agent. She has decided to move to the city after the heartbreak of her boyfriend's death. She needed a change to try to help her move on with her life.

Following Maddy's move, Ronan starts to spend time with her. He doesn't mind especially since he has had a crush on her since they were in school. They get along great and enjoy each others company.

Maddy also joing the McGuire family back home for the wedding of Ronan's brother Gavin and her best friend Jordan over Christmas. She enjoys spending time with the family and she and Ronan get closer.

There are a series of murders that involve women in the real estate industry. Ronan has experience with this case, advises Maddy to be extra careful and is worried about her.

After her agency's holiday party, Maddy disappears. Ronan and Bowser have to find her before it's too late.

I really enjoyed the relationship between the characters. Ronan and Maddy click from the beginning, even though she is trying to fight it. She feels guilty moving on from her loss, but she realizes that it is necessary. As she tells Ronan, she is living again.

I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series!!
